With a lot of reading through these forums and a couple of others, I gained the courage to get this truck back on the road. It is a long way from being finished but it has had its cam break in and it will soon be ready for a test drive. My son shot this video. You will notice it is sporting one of Tom's cast iron split header.

what master cylinder have you used

i used the master cylinder out of an 83 half ton. I also used the complete front crossmember from that same truck. I am using drop spindles and springs.

didyou change rearend or axles? also steering box?

yes the rearend is from an 83 1/2 ton. I also used the complete front crossmember from the 83. It was an easy bolt in with just drilling out a couple new holes. And yes the steering box came from the 83 donor too. I added drop spindles and springs up front with lowering springs for the rear.

No trouble at all. It bolted right up. I did have to modify the push rod some.
