Hy todjob2000, the illustration I have showing the timing marks for the 305 and 351 engines has the crank timing mark at the top, the key appears to be two teeth to the right of the timing mark tooth, the cam timing mark is at the bottom, I can't see the cam key because the cam gear retaining washer/bolt is in place. So both timing marks are facing each other, as close together as they can be, hope that helps.
