The kit I bought has replacement races for the bearings.How do you get the race out of the worm bearing thrust screw,the one that has the big lock nut on it ? Is the race replaceable or is it all one machined piece ? I'm stumped on this part.

All the pictures of gear boxes I have seen are a one piece lower race adjuster assembly.

Joe,when you say it's machined in,is it all one piece and not serviceable ?

If you know a good machinist, they should be able to cut out the old one and install the new one. Its not a heavy leaded bearing so it should be a pretty easy job on a good lathe.
