Could the hood have been "sat on"? So the sides have spread? Mine has a beveled lower edge, mating to beveled inner edges of the fenders. If the fenders are mounted a little too close together, I can see the hood not dropping in properly. How much too wide is the hood?
Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice) \'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run. My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but ignorance means you don't know you can't do something.

Could you have a big truck hood? AFAIK The cab width is the same at the cowl as the lighter trucks.....blkhrn's problem seems to be the width rather than the length difference on the heavier trucks. I tend to agree with Highflyer,sounds like the hood's splayed.

I assume by wider hood you mean at the front nose, I was aware the fenders are bigger both in width and wheel opening.
That, I could understand,but if the cabs are identical,why would the hood be wider at the cowl?
blkhrn states that on his, everything else seems to fit OK....

What he says fits fine is the fenders and grill and I took that to mean they fit the truck just fine.
If I've misunderstood him it sure would not be the first time I was confused...
But again, there are several varieties of hoods, and some of the big truck hoods, like for a 3-ton GMC, are huge. I would imagine he is dealing with a Chevy hood which won't be that extreme, but it is larger than the 1-ton and smaller trucks.
