Hi all! Trying to check the timing and when I hooked up the timing light, the light would only come on when I hooked up the wire to the #2,5,6 plug wires. when I hooked to the 1,3 or 4 wires the light would not come on. Cap and rotor is in good condition, points and plug wires are new. Any suggestions?

let me guess you have a nice new set of yellow 7mm wires. Go to the parts store and get a set of OEM type wires.

You can time it on #6 but that doesn't answer the question. Does it run OK?

The new plug wires are black. And it seems to be running ok. I just wanted to check the timing because it seems to crank a little hard when warmed up.
