Specifically for 1953 Chevrolet, but inquiring minds may want to know for other years too. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | meaning? 53 car - 53 truckcar and truck ornaments weren't identical any year - when trucks even had them - but likely any ornament could be fitted if you want it Bill | | | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 | Your 53 car link is forbidden. I was referring to the airplane style ornaments. Is the curve of the hood close enough to work? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 |

First link works on OS-X Safari but not in Firefox, where it gets to:

Can someone tell me if my 1950 1/2 ton had the 3100 emblem in addition to the Cheverolet emblem on the sides of the hood? I found a nice set at a swap meet in Houston last Sunday and bought them thinking they would go nicely on my truck. Paid $5 for the pair.

At least my '50 did. Are yours new? If you got them for $5/pair you did well.

Looks at Tim's Links and it showed up as for 53-54 car Hood Ornament... If this is true when it was assembled in Oakland, Ca that may have been the Hood Ornament on the line that day... Brothers shows it as Original for 1953-54 ( Truck ) as a few other other sites do also... As for myself, it is the one that has always been on the truck and will remain so...

Currently mine only has the Chevrolet badges on it. I'll have to study it further because the two holes are covered up by the Chevy badges. And no, the badges I found last Sunday at the swap meet were used but in good condition.
Healing Bear.... I guess I was not clear enough in my original question. I was inquiring about the side badges on the hood and not a "hood ornament". Thanks for taking time though to help me.
