I thought these brackets were pretty self explanitory, but I'm not having much luck putting them on my truck. I assume they mount to the outside of the frame. I'm not sure if I have them flipped over or what. When I try and flip them, they hit the chin piece below the grill. Any experts out there that can give me some advice would be appreciated.

Yes outside of frame. The long bar faces outward. Have you switched left and right? Are they new, or used?

The brackets and bumper may both be "sprung" a little. I had to assemble the brackets to the frame and bumper with all bolts very loose, then once all were pried and pushed into place all the bolts could be tightened.

Yes, I've tried them flipped from side to side. I can get them on the one way, but the angle is wrong. They are pointing towards the ground. Kip I think your right. I did losely put all the bolts in, but when I started tightening them, it started pulling the brakets into the side of my splash apron. I do have an aftermarket glass apron as the original was barely on the truck when I got it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something. I took these brakets off 5 years ago!! I finally got the truck painted and almost finished. THanks for the input. If anybody has time to snap off a couple of pictures of the braket bolting to the frame, I would appreciate it!!

Is the bumper correct for your year and model of truck? If it has to much or to little curve would be difficult to bolt up.

Yes, the bumper and the brackets are original to the truck. The splash apron below the grill is the only new part.

I think Kip is on to the idea that yours may be sprung, and you may be able to mount with shims and longer grade 8 bolts, if bent left or right. If they are bent up or down, you may need to replace them.
