Remove a couple of cylinder head bolts, and make brackets from angle iron to bolt onto the engine, using those head bolts. I use bolts diagonally opposite each other, front and rear. Then bolt your lift chain to holes drilled in the angle iron. Be sure not to bend pushrods or other components with the lift chain.

I use this setup on an Eastwood leveler. The bolts are 1/2-12 x 5, the spacers are old 1/2 drive sockets. Using the head bolt torque sequence: the bolts with the spacers go in the #7 and #8 holes (on the intake side)and the bolts with the 1/2 SAE washers go in the #9 and #11 holes (on the distributor side). Very easy to tilt or level the engine with this rig.

Also, turn the "L" brackets with the short legs to the inside so everything clears the rockers.
