your gas pedal should be a
rubber covered plate attached to the floor at the heel, with a ball-end rod thru the toeboard, that clips into a socket under the pedal, like the top piece
of this V8 linkage - [which is maybe what you need]
if someone changed it to a later style that mounts higher, pivots inside the firewall, and has a 'spoon shaped' end, you may still be able to fit an original pedal, otherwise check the wreckers for 67+ ones
