Did these split rims come on these old bolts or were these added some time ago? I know the tires were added later.
Also, what kind of hubcaps/wheels could I put on these trucks for appearance especially with the large axle hub on rear? | | |

True "split rims" are three pieces and were on the bigger trucks. I found some 16" dexter wheels at a trailer shop. Google on dexyer and you will find some places that may still have them. Dexter doesn't carry them anymore but there are still some around. I had to put clips on them but they look pretty good. Click on THE SLEEPY DRAGON link below to check them out. What you have to watch out for is back spacing. Its very short due to the tie rod ends on my truck. I am not sure if the '54 used the more modern ends. Of so, you won't have that problem. | | |
