Hi All I bought cab mounts for 52 AD from classic parts, they sent me a package which has front mounts which I recognize in my sleep but the one they sent was like conical shape rubber boots with bolt and nuts at the bottom , I never saw than on my original truck when I took it apart. Does anyone know how to put that on? Please help.

The cab mounts you bought are for 47-49 cab and have some extra stuff in the kit you don't need the conical rubber boots for your truck just the rubber bushings for the rear mounts and the hardware for the front .

You're also have to get 4 more rubber bushings for the rear mounts.You'll need 8 total 4 for each rear mount

Awesome guys, I was just lost and was wondering what the heck I am suppose to with these stuff, well thanks for clarifying. I already have 4, when I stripped the truck I only saw 2-3 metal plates and one inside the cab, did not see any of these busings at all. But why 4 more though I only have 4 bolts in total for rear mounts. Probably I am missing something.

If you purchased the cab kit for the 49 it only comes with 4 rear mount shakle bushings. You will need 4 bushings to rebuild one mount. As you know you have 2ea

The kit for the 49-54 comes with 8 bushings.

When I rebuilt my cab mount shackles I found the original rubber to be in good shape. So I just reused the originals.

Thanks,Dads50,I had a great B-Day,Ganesh,Look at your'e two rear mounts you'll see the bushings go in the mounts where the long bolts go to hold the mount together each bolt has two rubber bushings in it one from each side .That will give you a total of 8 needed to rebuild both mounts.Do you have a service manual it has a pic of the mount.

On the 1947 through early 1949 trucks those conical bumpers keep the center mount shackle trucks from contacting the frame under load. By the way they are nothing like the originals which look like this. They measure 1-15/16" high and carry part #3585018 and are molded to the sheet bracket.

That's the same problem I'm having with my '48! The pics Brad posted are the same as the mounts on the truck but the new bumpers they sent look different and don't even mount in the same manner. Tech support claimed they'd never heard anything about the bumpers being different than original.

I could drill some holes in the cab floor for the cone bumpers to work but would rather find the original style. Has anybody found a place to purchase the originals?
