I have my exhaust manifold cleaned sandblasted and now i am putting it together again but i miss the bimetal spring on the heater valve/cold start valve .
do i have to find a replacement ? or can i just do with out it ?
what will be the effect can it damage something or reduce exhaust fumes or something ?

You need to find a new one and install it. With all the scrap 235's floating around you will probably not have a problem finding one in Truck Parts Wanted or you might want to check with NAPA to see if they stock them... can't be too expensive.
