I'm new to the board and have just acquired a 1967 C60 flatbed 8'X14', 292ci, air brakes, 5/2, 10-20 wheels, and 72,000 original miles. Planning on mounting a water tank on the back to use for irrigating the crops. It's been sitting for 13 years at my brother in laws. The truck was purchased new in 1967 by my wife's uncle, who ran a lumber yard. A set of points,a shot of ether, clean gas and it fired right off, amazing. Did a standard tuneup today and since I had the plugs out
I checked the compression. Highest cylinder 150 psi, lowest cylinder 142. 8 psi differential unbelievable. This thing idles. Anyway back to the more mundane. There is some rot in the cab floor
and the running board driver's side was kinda hammered into the lower fender extension and the skirt/liner. Took the skirt out and beat it back into position. No joy with the fender extension, to much rot. I've posted in the parts wanted, searched Craigslist across the country, and called every yard I could find but no luck. If someone has a driver's side fender extension, or a lead to one, please let me know. If someone would lend me one(with a deposit and fee) I can make one out of fiberglass and return it to you. Thanks for your help.

Pat

Sounds like a great find. The air brakes really set it apart from the usual C60's we see around here especially with the inline engine when most had gone over to the dark side, i.e. the V8. Welcome PatS.

Sounds like an interesting truck. Post some pictures sometime if you can. When checking on the Fender Extensions you need to know which one to ask for. There were Wide Fenders and Narrow Fenders on those trucks. There are actually Truck Junk Yards everywhere, but you'll need to do some searching. Many aren't listed anywhere.

Keep us posted.

Welcome to the bolt. smile

Just a suggestion, but if you're willing to glass that fender ext. you might try mocking it up on the truck with blocks of florists foam. Can get the stuf all over the place in varying sizes/shapes. Just stack it & glue in place, shape it to fit the truck, and lay glass over it. Once it's set you can break out the foam, then sand & shape the glass.

I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans. Being unable to appreciate them all is missing out on a world of great things.
But thats just MY opinion!
