Sorry if I'm posting this on the wrong thread, I just don't know where it might go. I have a 49 GMC with 55-2nd up, bed (including fenders). Although the truck doesn't look bad, it's like the pea under the mattress, and yes, I can feel it. Wandering around I found a place that might find me a proper year bed (complete).
The guy told me he might found somebody to sell my bed and asked me how much did I wanted for it. What would be a fair price for it, its in top shape, except for the wood, not new but not rotten. I would put it on the freebe thread, but just the shipping might kill you guys, I live in Guatemala.

I have no idea what the market is like in Guatemala but I recently bought a bed in good condition for $75. I bought it from a guy who just needed to get it out of his garage. Hope that helps.

if the same guy can find a buyer for yours, and find you a 49 bed, maybe you should tell him you want the same amount as the correct bed costs considering your location, if someone down there needed it, 500 would be cheap

Sell it for the same price the correct bed will cost you. that way you break even.

South Carolina price probably around $500.00 give or take depending on exact condition.

I guess I will have to wait until the guy gets me the bed, if it is in bad condition, It'll cost me a little to leave it good, since mine is really in excellent condition, no rust, just painted, maybe change the wood and runners, but just for looks, since they're OK. At the end, maybe I'll make it a flatbed and use the money for other much needed part. Thanks everybody.
