Good-looking installation, but there's a reason the GM HEI cap is so big. There's a danger of flashover from one cap terminal to another, especially if an open-circuited plug wire is present, or a wire falls off a plug. Don't run a wide plug gap if you choose to use the original cap and rotor with HEI system coil voltage.

ps, 59 apache 235 | | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 126 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 126 | left feild-this is a site i found when i was re wiring my truck. it also has alot of helpfull info like the theory behind generators/alternator, the diffrences between those and internal vs. external regulated lots of good stuff! he uses buick wiring diagrams, but they can at least give you a good understanding of the wiring involved in a conversion and how simple it can be to do it yourself. http://www.rowand.net/shop/tech/AlternatorConversions.htm hope it helps
