Presumably you are looking for a screw-on filter-assembly used on a 235/261 by-pass filter block? I have used two different plumbing styles and locations for a screw-on filter-head used on full-flow 1958-63 261 blocks.

If you are going to put a spin-on filter on a by-pass block, it has been suggested to place a "restrictor" washer in the system. Maybe someone who has done this will comment?

Something about 1/16" (.060") in diameter will restrict the flow enough to prevent a serious drop in oil pressure. Be aware that a full-flow filter has such large openings in the filter media that all it strains out are the big chunks, so you won't get very effective filtering. It makes people feel better, though, thinking they're protecting their engine. If you can find a spin-on filter intended for hydraulic fluid, or something similar that screws onto the remote filter adapter and filters down to 2 or 3 microns, use that type of filter instead of the more commonly available full-flow spin-ons. The cost will be more than the canister filter the factory specified, but it's a little more convenient to use a self-contained filter instead of replacing a cartridge.

An Amsoil bypass filter head (shown in my example) has a 1/16” restrictor which could be added to the average filter mount found at a FLAPS by inserting an NPT pipe plug and drilling a metering hole in it as well as Jerry’s method. An Amsoil bypass filter has an efficiency rating of 98.7% at 2 microns and will remove soot as well as the very small particles that cause the most engine wear which I believe to result in much cleaner oil than any full flow conversion would accomplish. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/bf.aspx
