I am replacing the grille on my 1960 chevy apache. could someone help with some info. how many bolts are involved, and where are they located ? many thanks.

should be 3 bolts on each side you can access under the fender in front of tire from below. don't forget to unplud wiring harness if you need to.

Not sure if the Chevy grille mounts the same as GMC, but my GMC has two more bolts, one per side that are accessed through the upper inner corner of each headlight rim hole, after removing the headlight rims. These attach the upper flange of the grille to the grille support.

When I receive the new grille, I suppose it will be obvious. But I have heard 3 different bolting configurations for this grille. In the wheelwell, I see 3 bolts, and I am told there is a center bolt in front of the radiator. I know this seems elemental. Thanks for helping guys.

hoggyrubber is right. three bolts on either side. I replaced mine last year. You should get under there now and spray some penetrating oil and let is sit. It may make the job a little easier.

i haven't found any bolts that was frozen up, but i have had to chisel off ald asphalt from every bolt i have took out one one. i have prob took of around 10 or so grills.

I replaced the grille 2 days ago. Just for reference, there are 8 bolts total. 3 bolts, like hoggyrubber said, accessible in the front of the wheel well on each side. then remove the triangle shaped panels (5 bolts each) on each side of the top of the radiator looking at the front. There is one bolt inside each of the areas by the radiator on each side after removing the panels, towards the top. Richard Torres of Anaheim, Ca. did a great job re-chroming and straighting the new grille, plus the packing was well done. Looks great, and the end of my grille problem after hitting the deer about 3 months ago. Thanks to everyone for your help.
