hello there. new to this forum. i just acquired a '49 chevy truck frame that came with a '54 235 inline 6 w/4speed transmission and drive-train - a 'runner.' i want to swap it over to my '39 Chevy truck to beef up the power but keep the exterior "original." I've got my old 216 and 3 speed out, but need some advice on how this "new" set-up is going to fit and what I'll need to do, etc. (how do i check to see if rear-end/driveline, tranny, front end, etc. will fit?)

thoughts?

as an owner of a 39 think your going to hit alot of mounting probs body mounts will be different your running boards and specialy your front radiator mounts and supports it can be done but you can count on alot of fab work

thanks Daniel. I'm going to use the '39 frame as my base and the '54 motor uses the same motor mounts and has the short water pump, so i think i'll be good there - more worried about tranny on back! smile
