I recently removed a few leafs from my front spring packs to give it a little more drop, anyway I'm need a few of those things that wrap around the leafs. There is usually 4 of them per pack, attached on the bottoms and come over the sides. I know, I know the name of these things but for the life of me cant remember the term. I saw universal ones on one of these truck part web-sites and had the page in my book marks but my computer crashed. Can anybody help me out by first telling me what these things are called and second tell me were I can find some universal ones? Any help would be appreciated.....JOSH

Over on this side of the Atlantic those things are called spring clips. They're made of mild steel so shouldn't be too difficult to make if you can't find anyone who sells them.

Stuart is correct Josh, they are spring clips. At the bottom of this page there are some pictures of the process that I used to make new ones for mine.

Just for future reference Stuart, I usually go to http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ca/t.aspx?Page=14 to verify what a part is called. They have diagrams of your truck with parts identified by name.

Nice job Denny. Isn't making your own parts great. Looks like you got a full machine shop to do so with. Those spring clips look better than stock.

Tks, that's the ider, to make it look like a factory job.
If one doesn't care whether the clips look stock or not, then there are universal clips that most of the vendors sell. They are something like a U-strap.

....after seeing what a good job Denny did on his I went to Lowes, or Ace Hardware, and got me a 36" piece of 3/4 flat steel and made my own. THANK YOU DENNY. I think mine came out looking nice to. A fellow bolter even gave me the part number to order a box of the rivets from McMaster Carr. Heck, I still have about 44 of the rivets left!!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
