| | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 134 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2009 Posts: 134 | front wheel hub,bearings,and seal. all the books and manuals show a wheel seal for my 1941 1-1/2 ton gmc. but I have no seal. from the inner bearing I have a spacer ring fits tight to the axle about .125th thick same hight as the bearing with a bevel inside. then a tin spacer that fit the outer hub but has a gap not tight to the axle. about .040th thick and the outside edge has a small lip. than one more tin like dust cover ring fits tight to the axle and is round enough to fit over the hub with a lip. I see no seal.... please help

If there is no seal, it could be that the last person who had the hub off couldn't find one and just assembled it without one. Do you have it dissembled. If only one, pull the other side and perhaps the parts you are looking for may be there for a positive ID-assembly? Do you need an exploded view of the front hub? Hope this helps, Dale | | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 134 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2009 Posts: 134 | all set thanks guys ... bearing dust cover installed backwards was all bent up. got a new one replaced it and the other cover shield and bearing all line up nice. its always a treat to work on something that was done wrong and no maunal with the up grades on this truck can be found. so its yell for help and lots of internet looking for how too...
