Turn it all the way to the left, depress the button and pull. The button is located on the bottom side of the image shown on page 34 of Jim Carters catalog. So this button is on backside of face of the dash on that bracket shown. Once released does the shaft come towards you with the knob?

Push the button and pull the headlight switch like you are turning them on and it will come right out.
