I saw a fixed up COE hot rod with speakers down in front of the doors. Realizing that location, I went to my truck to realize that there weren't kick panels there and that I can see the door hinges with the doors closed. Were there kcik panels or what that a custom thing going on in that COE?

They are basically shaped like the State of Nevada - LOL but true. I recently bought a two piece headliner for my '46 and it is made of the same cardboard the kick panels are made of...I'm not impressed. I plan to cover the headliner pieces with black Naughahyde. Since the kick panels are flat, I plan on making my own from 1/8" or 1/4" plywood and covering them the same as the headliner cardboard. I will probably mount speakers in them too. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,107 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,107 | the panels in my 40 were shot. for a temp fix i made them out of a cardboard box and painted them the same as the cab. since then i got a pair of abs panels and a pair of abs speaker pods from "rod doors" painted the panels and the pods same as cab color. now i have a good sound system that is neat, clean and almost hidden. i mounted a removable cd player that is wired for the ashton. with the addition of an ipod no more skipping plus the music drowns out the sound of the engine when at cruising speed. | | |
