hi,

i thought i had a i/e manifold for a 235 but i may be for a different motor. the casting #s are exhaust 9836988, intake 3836527. the ports line up on the head of my 235 but the spacing of the studs on the heat exchange is off. so a 235 heat exchange gasket does not work. the 235 studs are 2 1/8" apart while the mystery manifold has a stud spacing of 2.5". i found this out after i paid to have the nmystery manifold milled flat. i'd like to use the mystery manifold if i can find the right heat exchange gasket.

thanks.

i was just using the search function and a few old threads i read prompted me to measure the ports. just like you said, they are smaller diameter. i had not noticed that at first.

what a bummer.

You can still use that manifold,
you may have to have some port alignment rings made or just eliminate them.

In order to ID your manifolds, gotta have correct numbers.
Re-check those casting numbers.

Also, 216 and 235 manifolds have different heat exchangers.
I don't think they will bolt together.

9836388 may be the right exhaust casting. the intake # i posted above is correct.

i have a propper 235 i/e manifold combo that i think i'll use. i'd rather not restrict the air flow any more then stock with the 216 set.

i wish i had not assumed the 216 i/e manifold was a 235 before i had i milled. lesson learned.
