I'm searching for a '41-'46 stock rear end for my 1946 1/2 ton GMC. I suppose Chevy or GMC will do. Other than measuremensts, are there any part numbers stamped anywhere that would indicate the make and year of a rearend?

A 1940 AC through 1946 EC use the same axle housing. The left hand flanged should be stamped 41. Right hand stamped 42. It would be a hypoid torque type. The carrier should be casting 3657339. 37 teeth on ring gear, 9 on pinion for 4.11. | | |
