Fairly new stovebolter. Replaced 216 in my '38 HC truck with 235 out of a 1954. You guessed it, the water pump shaft hits the radiator core. Fan? Fughetaboutit! I thought a 1954 235 was the ticket and would have correct pump/pully. When compared to the 216 pump, they seem to be almost the same size/depth. What did I overlook? I am not wild about relocating radiator forward as it looks like I could have an issue with the filler neck and the hood as I move forward. Maybe an electic "pusher" fan on the otherside of the core??

Just courious, are you sure you have a 54 engine?
The fan to radiator clearance is close with a 54 engine but I have seen it done many times and work fine.
