Everything I have read is about the early 50's range So before I buy a trans that will not work
I have found several items on the t-5 swap but none are a 62 which I am to understand are not like the 63 sooooooooooo
Here is the question.
62 C10 SWD long box rear gear 3.73 warmed over 350.
Looking for a parts list for a t-5 that will handle the 350 ( 250-300 hp range)
I have read that the S10 is the best but not able to handle the 5.7 and that the Camaro/ trans am is better but I need a tail shaft from a S-10???
I am looking for a shopping list of items to do this as everything I read seems to be unclear on this and that. Year of trans , ( speedo) tail shaft needed, cross member, trans mount, clutch plate needed cover plate for clutch, what T/O bearing, which fork, can I use the HYD clutch??
Thanks in advance Again sorry if this was covered but I could not find a 62 long bed thanks
Can some one help me.
P.S. have a 4 speed box for sale cheap!! ( once I get new trans in LOL

There is a long thread on the T-5 trans right now in th HiPo forum. Have you seen that? Go over there and check that out. There are some good links to others sites with T-5 info. You can also do a search of these forums for anything T-5. There is a tech tip on this site and a good one on the inliners.org site. Good luck!

There is ungodly amount of info on this. I just did one on my 55-2 with a 85 s-10 trans. & 350 engine. It works beautiful. I think it will stand up unless a guy abuses it. I don,t intend to do burnouts. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum

So let me get this straight S-10 tranny before 1988, clutch Is a wait and see thing , and I need the front yoke and then just have them mated and re balanced. That is what I have gathered.
Being that I build harleys for a living I like to have a specfic parts list. Part numbers are the best. As well it seems that I cannot find one done for a 62. If there is no change then great I am off to the salavage yard.
