My bench seat springs on my 51 3100 are broken and very weak on the drivers side. Everywhere else they're firm. The cloth is still in great condition so there is no reason for me to get a new one if i dont have to.

Regardless, I would like to correct the weak springs. I found an upholsterer in town who will take it apart and fix it.

What replacement spring parts should i get for him when i drop off the seat?

....did he not have one?? I would think any good upholstery guy would have a spring in his shop that will do the job. Ask him??

He did say he might have some, but im just trying to have everything for him ready. I just dont want him to have it for a week b/c he's waiting for a $3 part to come in the mail.

Did all of the seats from 1951 have the springs like the one in this photo?? Photo

or did some 1951 seats have the zig zag springs?
