Will the H/W carbs listed for sale on Langdons (http://www.stoveboltengineco.com) work as a replacement for a Rochester B on a 235 engine with manual choke?

Steve, the best person to ask this question is Tom Langdon himself. He's a wealth of information. I don't see why they can't be used but the ones I got were automatic choke (electric and water heated). I put mine on a Offy manifold but you would need the carb adapter to go from two BBl's to one BBL manifold.

I just ordered a H/Wcarb/adaptor/linkage/air cleaner/electric choke conversion from Tom yesterday to fit on my 56-235 in a 54 truck. I had originally wanted a Carter Weber but he explained that for a single replacement the H/Weber was the correct item. It seems that the Carter Weber carbs are more suited to work in pairs on an aftermarket intake.
This carb is a Holley Weber 5200 (used on a variety of 80's engines) remanufactured with a good track record. His price on the unit is cheaper than any I've seen and there is a wealth of info on applications and tuning on the net.

However, the carb comes with a water heated choke but for an extra $12. you can get a kit to convert it to electric. From my reading the 12v electric choke works great. You'd just have to run a 12v power source to the choke in place of your choke cable.

I haven't heard any negative comments on the adaptor or the carb and most proclaim an increase in performance and mileage with this setup.

I have the Holley Webers and if I had a choice I'd try to use a manual choke the next time. The electric are difficult to adjust and don't work in unison IMO.
