On the AD trucks was the underside of the hood painted the same color as the rest of the truck?

Thanks!

All of the AD trucks that I've been under to hood of had flat black on the underside of the hood.

Agreed. Mine is a black primer looking finish. It even has written in grease pencil on the underside a script "transport" that I assume is due to the transport blue paint color.

Thanks!!! That info helps alot. I have been trying to determine what the original color of the truck might have been. I am discovering more and more evidence that it is Mariner Blue.

My '55 also has grease pencil marking under the hood as well, C Blue, which I beleive is Crystal Blue. I've seen similar marking on other trucks as well.
