ok had a crapppy v8 with a rod knock in my 60' stepside apache that came stock with a small six and three on the tree. now am swapping a 292 cu.in. with a m465 tranny and 69 chevelle rearend to begin with, later a 327 with m20 tranny. to make this happen I will use the original tranny bell housing to mount to the original cross member, then bolt/drill the new motor mounts in place (staggered), as they are side mounts not front mounted. should be easy enough to set the 292 in place is there any issues I may have to deal with when installing this drive train??

I'm not sure what year you are working on. The 465 trans has a larger front retainer & will only fit 68 up bell housings for the 465 4 speed.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

I have the original tranny it has a smaller hole for the bell housing I was going with the sm456 as I thought this would be an ugrade from the original but upon my research I found the improvement was only minor rather than a crucial upgrade. thanx
