On my 1949 1/2 ton, I'm converting to power brakes with the booster & master cylinder under the floor.
Due to cost concerns, I need to stay with the drum brakes front & rear for now.
Can anyone tell me what the bore size on the wheel cylinders is front & rear ?
Also, should the front cylinders be smaller bore for more line pressuer & better brake balance ?
Unrelated question - how do I change my password on this site ?

1949 chev 3100 3 window. 350hp/327/m21 4 spd, 12 bolt rear, power brakes, 3" dropped axle from Sid's. Disc brakes next.

If it still has the original Huck brakes it has 1 1/4 in. on the front & 1 3/16 on the rear. The front are larger for more bracking on the front.
I can't help with the password

If it has the original brakes they are the Huck brakes. 1950 on back 1/2 tons used them. The huck brakes have 2 adjustments both at the top of the backing plate while the Bendix style has one adjustment at the bottom. If I was going to do a major rebuild I would change over useing 51 up parts. If they dont need much the Huck brakes will work OK.

Ok, Thanks. Mine have one adjuster on the bottom so they must be Bendix.
Now I can get the right cylinders & shoes.

Ref the password, click on My Stuff at the top, then on Edit Profile. Should be an option in there.

Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice)
