The unit was bolts into the original 216 engine and also in the 235 without any adaptor.
Now I have the 848 head and it looks like I need an reduction bushing.
I found one in a spare head but it was to big (outer diameter).
Are ther different sizes made?
HELP!

NPT you may want to re-thread the bushing so the original /new sender can fit further in, so the probe is clear of the threads on the bush and water hits the tip. you want the end /sender in the water's flow otherwise there is a dead zone and the tip will not sense the correct temp of the H2O. local hardware stores have plumbing fittings.
