Probably about 140 miles and the truck ran great. Sunny day boy the 3.55 rearend makes it safe to drive on the interstate. Best things I did was to put a new radiator in so it would stop leaking antifreeze, and then the Petronix coil and ignition so it starts every time. I can now jump in it and start it right up and drive like any other car.Blows my mind after it has been sitting for 40 years! | | | | | Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 419 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 419 | I read your post and then checked out your truck in the gallery. The young kids show no reaction, nothing impresses them. Middle aged or older always seem to get a real kick out of it. I usually get a wave or a smile from other pickup drivers.A couple of people in a car pulled up next to me and about waved their arms off. Most people don't realize that thing is 62 years old and still running. I am having fun with it.Always thinking about other ways to improve it. Paint it back Blue like its original color or maybe Chevy green.

I am a good looking old cuss.  But seriously, the old trucks do attract a lot of attention. An interesting thing happened to me a few weeks ago driving the Burb. I parked in the grocery store lot behind a car with a woman in it. As I walked by her she said as soon as she heard the door shut she instantly had a flashback to her youth and her dad's truck. She knew what was there before she turned around to look. Then when I came out her husband was walking out behind me. He said he was in a band years ago that had an AD burb.
