Down the road, I want to make some major engine improvements, but for now is there a relatively inexpensive replacement for the Rochester B carbs? Any suggestions/recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

If it says "made for Motorcraft by Carter" on the float bowl, it's a ferd unit. Those run too rich for a Chevy.

If so, do you run 1 or 2 carbs? What changes need to be made or will they bolt right on (with the right intake manifold) or do I need to change other components as well?
I'm a novice looking to upgrade and would like some guidance.

Edelbrock is still making them for their clones so you can buy them most anywhere. Also, the YF model parts interchange so if you get a base you like you can put a top from another YF on it to utilize whatever mounting you have on your air cleaner. Doug | | |
