I found an advance design truck in a salvage yard that has a bellhousing and tranny that I need to put in another truck. The salvage yard people said that I had to pull the tranny and bellhousing myself, which is not a problem in the shop but in the woods away from my tools is a different story though not impossible. I asked how much for the entire truck and the salvage yard wants to $200 per ton. I have searched for the weight of a cab and chassis 3/4 ton truck but could only find the gvw of 5800#. Does anyone know what the weight of this truck would be? I am planning another trip to look the truck over on Saturday and possbly take some pictures. Thanks in advance for the help.

It will depend on what all is there but for a rough estimate I would guess about a ton and a half (3000 pounds). If you think the guy has a sense of humor joke around with stuff like boy that mud looks heavy etc. If they sell it by the ton then I would assume they have a scale on-site.

You can always answer this kind of question from the Restoration Pack info available online.

If its all there and doesn't have anything extra it weighs 3,300 pounds.

Resto Pack 3603 weight

My 1954 GMC 100 weighed 3460 with empty gas tank and no spare tire. I had to furnish an official weight certificate when I registered it after it went unregistered for over 30 years.

Thanks for the info.
I have decided not to purchace the truck. A second more detailed look found there was too much cancer. Plus there was a 6 inch tree growing through the wooded flatbed. I am surprised I didn't see this when I first saw the truck. I may go back and get a few parts here and there.
