thanks, Mac | | | | | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 1,002 | First you should be replacing the positive wire to the HEI with 10 awg wire, minimum 12 awg. The HEI requires a full 12v to coil. This has been discussed many times.
Second assuming this is not a Pertronix, or external coil, it is marked on the distributor cap Tach and Bat.
