i have a 66 c20 that had a 250 straight 6 w/3 speed man and i want to put a 350 w/ automatic in it. what do i need for motor mounts? is there a motor mount that will use my exhisting frame mounts?

just bolt it in.where the frame perches go there are 3 holes of which they use 2. the stock 6 cyl location is the frt 2 and the v8 uses the rear 2. you will have to remove the rear eng crossmember(under the bellhousing and install a rear trans crossmember in

the bracket that bolted to the 6 cyl. block is a different bolt pattern than my 350. i dont see how your reply will work. are you saying a v8 motor mount will bolt to the front suspension crossmember instead of the old style mount?

you just eliminate the brkt between the insulator and the block on the I6. the insulator will bolt to the v8 block. look at it znd you will see. think

Yes...I-6 is much narrower than V-8. Your clutch pivot has an extra "spacer" for the same reason.

The factory engine perches for the straight six, have an extension piece that makes up the difference between the engine mouting surface of the factory V8 engine perches and the six cylinder...remove this extension and the V8 motor mounts will bolt to the engine perch and the V8 will nest on them and bolt up.

that poor old c20 will just feel like everybody else with a 350/auto.

i called napa and got new insulators for 7 bucks each and once i saw them and thought about it it all made sense. i must have had one of those old guy moments going on. it happens!!thanks for all the help.
