Just got my Radiator Grille Cover in the mail. This is one of those rare accessories, that I have no idea why I bought it but here it is:

Winter is short in coming and long in going. Careful, accessories like that could make a man do foolish things. Put a lock on the door and hand the key to a trusted friend

Tim, That must be rare, don't see it in the accessories booklets although they show the passenger car version. Also there was a bug screen made just like that. GM got pretty imaginative in those days. A friend of mine worked for several Chevy dealers back then, said a car would be delivered and before the owner would show up to claim his new car the dealer would load it up with a dozen items.

It does show up in the '46 salesman's data book. I was happy to find onebut would never even think about driving it with it on the truck. After 60+ years the material it is made of is a bit on the brittle side.

No winter drives planned. The truck is still winterized and wont see the road for another month or two.

Glad to hear that no current road trips are planned! Please keep your "Great American Treasure" under a nice warm winter blanket! Love your Stovebolt!

The grille on my '46 is original and it shows two wear marks on the upper rail of the upper grille. I questioned this with the previous owner and he told me the original owner, from SD, had a radiator cover attached for a number of seasons. His radiator cover could have been an aftermarket product that cover both lower and upper grilles?
