Hey fellow bolters I am wondering if anybody sells a frenched headlight kit? I was watching a T.V. program this weekend and they were working on a 53 pick-up and in the process of frenching the headlights on it which looked really neato-torpedo! It looked like it was a kit but they didn't mention where they got it from which is odd because those shows drop names like nobody's business | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 | Hi Rusty...You could check out these guys , they may have just what your looking for. By all accounts they seem to be the best though. I love their headlamps but they're set up for driving on the right! (They dip to the wrong side!) They're pretty expensive too! With some work Id think you would beable to make your own. Time to research! | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 381 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 381 | Here's how us old guys french headlights. Remove the headlight bucket from the fender. Drill 4 holes on the flange on the fender and remount the bucket from the backside, inside the fender using 1/4"-20 bolts. Take the original headlight trim ring and weld it to the fender. Grind your welds , and do whatever body work is necessary to smooth everything out nice. Replace the headlight bulb in the bucket and bolt back on thru the inside of the fender. The only drawback to this method is when aiming/adjusting the headlight beam you have to remove the bucket, turn the adjusting screw a bit, remount the bucket etc, etc until the alignment is complete.

If you go to the website and follow the link, they will list suppliers as well as a video of the show on how they did it. Not really my taste personally but to each their own. | | | | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 1,028 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 1,028 | The set up from the website they used for parts was much cheaper than Hagan if I remember correctly.
