For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 173 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 173 | I finally got around to reassembling the hood on my '50 1/2 ton. I checked the factory assembly manual and see that there is a brace rod that goes from latch panel to the hood sheetmetal on each side of the hood. My pre-disassembly pics confirm that these were missing from my hood. Does anyone offer these as a reproduction? As an alternative, what is the center to center distance of the holes in the braces so I can "roll my own"? Thanks

However, the holes are at right angles to each other and the rod has an angle at one end. It might be a challenge to fabricate. I don't believe the part is available from vendors. Suggest you try posting a want add in the swap meet. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 | Scott, give this guy a holler, he may be able to help. 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr.
