It means somewhere in the previous years someone yanked the closed torque-tube driveline and matching rearend. They probably did you a favor unless you want 100% original. You should be able depending on the ratio travel at freeway speeds assuming other components are capable such as brakes, steering etc. If you examine the rear end closely you should be able to determine what make of vehicle or more, they have stampings, tags, part #'s etc that the experts here can probably decipher for you. Shoot some pictures both sides of the pumpkin and I am sure someone will weigh in on what/where it came from.
