I've done the modification to the input shaft and bearing retainer front hub on the T-5 - bolts up nice! Next is what clutch do I use??? The Astro Van 10" or 11" or ??????? I read somewhere the the 10" will work eventhough it is smaller than the stock O.D.
Thanks fellas, Tom

Larger mtors like a 292 and ?? other motors you don't have to trim. I run an 11' corvette clutch but you're best bet is to take your pressure plate to a clutch facility and have them match what you have. a 'FLAPS' will usually only sell a complete clutch and pressure plate set. Make sure you count the input shaft on the T5. some are 26 spline while others are (14-16?) spline & know the diameter of your flywheel.

This was a left-over on a previous T-5 tranny I used on another project. I think I'm in safe territory now. I'll just have to find a 14 spline (not 16)11" disc and I'm done. I am running a 261 and have already performed the modifications to the input shaft and collar as I said in my original post. I hope it is as simple as I anticipate. Thanks for the info.

Look at an 82-84 S10/S15 2.8L. It is a 9 11/16" x 14spl. x 1". Close to 10 in. as I could find! NAPA part No. RCF-4201. Check it for fit on your 11" pressure plate. The plate should cover all the disc.

Thanks! Tom

I'm counting on that RCF 4201, which I was told was a 9 7/8" clutch, 14 spline, to fit perfect. I don't have one yet, but I'm heading to get one tomorrow at my unlocal NAPPA. I'm hoping to buy just a clutch. I must have 3 or 4 clutches and pressure plates and I don't need anymore pressure plates. Joe

If all else fails let me know and I would have one made for you.

The clutch disc was identical to the stock one but with the correct number of splines but the pressure plate bolt holes were different. I test fit the s-10 clutch with the stock pressure plate and it worked fine- and since it was in pretty good shape I'll use it til it wears out and then replace it with one just like it.

The center spline (14) is very compact and there was no need to grind or refit the disc. Disc was about $43.00 from NAPA.
