Wolfgang | | | | | Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 400 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 400 | If you still have the isolator between the two posts and one has a RED marking on it,that one goes to the fuel gauge.the other one goes to the switch. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | The post on the left or lower, when looking at the fuel gauge installed in the dash is the hot and the post on the right or higher is the wire from the sender,it is on my 52. Good luck,Wolfgang.

My question is to do with the ignition switch, which terminal does the wire from the starter go to? top, lower right or lower left looking at the switch from under the dash. Also which terminal does the lead from the fuel gauge go to? Thanks Keith | | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | If you have a stock switch with a foot starter all three terminals on the switch go on and off at the same time so it really does not mater which wire goes where on the switch.

There are three positions of the key and the middle one is all on. turn the key left or right from the middle position and all is off. Is there something amiss with my switch? I expected one of the positions to connect two of the terminals and another to connect all three with the third being off. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2009 Posts: 1,644 | The switch I have on my 52 only has two positions on or off so all three terminals are the same on mine, with foot start there is no [censored].position at lest on my switch I would quess because the foot switch to start is seperate so any time you turn the switch on it's only to start the engine every thing else works all the time, lights, heat fan,etc and is not conected to the switch. The only two things that the switch turns on are the coil and the gas gauge.
