hey there.i just got a new door lock and keys and tried to take the old lock out but got stuck.i removed the 3 screws that hold the latch in place, and i removed the door handle, but i cant get the thing out.it wiggles a lot but the last thing holding it in is the arm from the latch to the inside handle.im not sure how to get the sucker off.vice grips wont seem to hold on and turn it.all i want to do is put a new door lock/key in. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

The lock is held in place by a clip accessible from the rear edge of the door under the weatherstrip. You don't need to remove the handle or the latch.

alright, i know which clip you are talking about.if im looking at the clip from the inside side, which way does it move.or does it matter? what part of the door do i get to it from,do i have the window down to get to it? im confused as to how i get to it.

Pry it aft a little with a screwdriver then grab it with pliers and continue pulling aft.

There's a really good picture of the setup in Chap 1 of the shop manual.
