The flex plates avaiable for small blocks (mine is a 350) seem to be offered in two versions. 153 and 168 tooth are the choices. How do I know which one to choose?

Look at your block and see what pattern the starter mounting bolts have: stright-across or diagonal. Many blocks have 3 holes so that you can use either one, but if only 2 of the holes are tapped, then you'll need to get a flexplate that will work with your starter.
If the bolts are in the "straight-across" pattern, the 153-tooth flexplate will fit. If they're in the diagonal pattern, the 168 works. | | |
