Can anyone please tell me how many teeth are on a later 235 flywheel? I have a 55 235.

Tomorrow I need to climb under my truck & count the teeth to match it up with the proper bendix on the starter.

I think it may be a total of 168.

Can someone confirm this?

If so can someone tell me how many teeth in maybe 12" to make it easier to count?

Thank you for the help.

A search of the archives clears things like this up quickly; however it was common practice to use the old flywheel with a new engine, so make sure you count.

139 tooth early

168 tooth late

The difference is, however, the early flywheel will work with a 6 volt starter, which can be run with 12 volts, and the late flywheel is for a 12 volt starter.
