Hi all,

I need to wire a 49 burb and was wondering if you could help with a shopping list. Here's what I have so far. I am leaning towards wiring to original because I want the look of original buttons and switches, and most of the 12-20 circuit wiring kits comes with a lot of stuff I probably won't use. It's a 261 6 cylinder with 12V alt, floor starter going into it. Here's what I have so far (starting with nothing).

Original harness from classicparts
dimmer switch
turn signal stat
headlight switch
cig lighter
guages
ignition switch

Where can I get the original fuse panel, or can I? What about terminal blocks, how many?

Thanks in advance.
Patrick

On my 49 there are 5 fuses in the fuse box. I have rewired most of the truck using good wire and connectors from FLAPS. I am still using the generator so cannot comment on how to wire an alternator.
The wire gauge required is or should be shown on the wiring diagram. Because it is a diagram for a 6 volt system you can get away with light gauge wire if need be.
The most important thing is to use a good crimping tool and make good connections. Give them a 'tug' test before you install them.
