I installed a SM-160 universal turn signal unit in my 52-3100 /12volt truck last week and every thing works turn signals brake lights 4 ways , but the lights on the unit don't there are two green ,to indicate lift and right turn and one red to indicate 4 way any ideas as to why? I even ran a seperate ground wire to the unit and that did not help.

Pete, if you wired everything correctly, you must have a bad flasher. I had a flasher that worked but, it wouldn't lite the housing indicator. Are you using a three-prong flasher?

Yes,I tried a electronic one first only one they had, and that did not work at all so I went and got a thermo one and it works every thing but the indicators but I did notice that it works even if I have only one lamp on say the front one or only the rear one and I recall in the "old days" if you had a lamp go out on the sys. it would not work so do you think I should try a differint flasher?

Pete, I would visit the local parts store and pick up a Heavy Duty three prong flasher, and then plug it in. This should make the indicator light work.

On my '37 i only have the rear turnsignal lights wired. I think technology has us beat.

Another suggestion, Check your bulb in the housing. It maybe blowed.?

Thanks Jeremy,I'll go get the HD flasher and give that a try and if it does not I'll check the lamps.
