Hey all,

I just bought a 1954 1/2 ton as a family project truck. We don't have any restoring or rebuilding experience, and really have no idea what we've gotten ourselves into :-)

This site is a great source of information and friendly advice.

I'm not sure if it is an acceptable way of posting pictures, but I have started a blog about our project:
http://underwoods54chevy.blogspot.com/

We are just hoping to get it running reliably for now. We will think about what approach we will take with the truck once we get a chance to do some work with it.

Thanks!

Hi Chris, welcome....
You've certainly come to the right place, there's some great folks and advice here.
The pics are great, your new 'toy' doesn't look too bad.
Just be methodical in your approach, and ask all the questions you need to,and the info will be forthcoming.
Good luck. thumbs_up

Be careful calling yourself a expert, because an "EX" is a hasbeen and a"SPERT" is a drip under pressure.

Welcome to the Stovebolt world. That truck looks mighty fine for a family project. One that will pay its way and you will always be in style.
How can we help? Just ask in the best forum for the best answers.

Welcome Chris, looks like you have a fairly decent truck sofar. Yes the old rubber can be worse than it looks, same goes for the cab corners.... Hopefully you are up and running soon.
