I have a brand new set of front fenders for a 65 trying to bolt the fender brace to the rear of the fender. The hole going through the fender brace's are 5/16 and the hole in the fender is 3/8. Anyone know how to bolt them together, is there a clip you put in, there is no way to get to the back side of the fender to put a nut. Thanks

The fender should have threads in it, you will have to put a flat washer on the bolt to keep the bolt head from going thru the brace hole.

The bottom does have threads in it, the four or five above it do not.

I can get some pictures I will have to wait until my wife gets home later to put them on. On the back side of the fender where the cab side of the fender bolts to the fender mount down by the rocker panel, right above that there is the bolts that bolt the fender brace that holds the rubber fender gasket. That bracket bolts to the fender. The fender has a 3/8 round hole with no way to get to the back side of it to put anything in it, the bracket has a 5/16 round hole in it, I need to bolt them together. I will get some pics later on

I figured it out, I had to put jack nuts in the holes, I think that is what they were called. Thanks for the help

The lower mounting point on the factory front fender brace/stiffback, as well as, the reprodution fender braces, have a weld nut installed in them. The factory shoulder bolt has an oversized washer on it, that can not be removed, that keeps the head from pulling through the lower fender brace bracket that is mounted to the firewall flange of the cab. There is no need for jack nuts in any holes, if the weld nuts are in place, as they should be on reproduction or OEM, used fenders.
